What changes

Most owners aren't bad at bookkeeping. They're just doing it last.

It slides to Sunday night, then month-end, then March when the accountant asks. Here's what happens instead.

  • Six months of receipts in a box, an inbox and the glove compartment. All of it gets sorted and entered once — every transaction coded to a chart of accounts built for your industry. Catch-up is quoted up front, after a free diagnostic review.
  • You're not certain the books are actually right. Reconciliation matches them line-for-line against the real statements. It surfaces double charges, missing deposits and anything that doesn't match, and it's the step most DIY books skip.
  • The bank balance is the only number you have. Cash in the account isn't profit. A profit & loss, a balance sheet and a short summary of what moved arrive every month, so a strong month is easy to tell from a big deposit landing.
  • Your CPA charges you to clean the books up before they can file. Your CPA gets a reconciled file and a direct line to me instead. Cleanup is priced by how far behind the books are, so the longer they slide, the bigger that project gets.
Who I work with

Three kinds of businesses, one standard of work

Local service businesses

Contractors, landscapers, salons, cleaners, auto shops, restaurants and trades. No time to code transactions on a Sunday. Small business bookkeeping

Real estate investors

Portfolios where you need to know which property earns and which one quietly bleeds. Per-property books, not one blended pile. More on real estate

Latino-owned businesses

Owners who would rather talk about their money in Spanish, and families moving money between the U.S. and the Dominican Republic. Your documents don't need translating before they can be recorded — I read both.

Christopher Lara, founder of Faro Bookkeeping

“Most owners don't need a finance department. They need one person who keeps the books clean, explains the numbers in plain English, and picks up the phone when something looks off. That's the practice I'm building.”
