Two names, one idea: a steady light to navigate by, and a quiet nod to where my family comes from.

A note from the founder
I'm Chris — Christopher Lara. I studied finance at Purdue with a wealth-management focus, I've worked in Massachusetts real estate, and I'm bilingual in English and Spanish with family roots in the Dominican Republic. I built Faro for small businesses that need their books in order but don't yet need a bookkeeper on staff.
Faro means lighthouse. A lighthouse doesn't steer your ship. It gives you one fixed, reliable point to navigate by, which matters most when things feel foggy. That's the job I want your books to do for you.
The legal name, Larimar Group LLC, comes from larimar — a blue stone found almost nowhere but the Dominican Republic. A quiet nod to where my family is from, behind a brand built for clients across the U.S.
Where I am in this, honestly
Faro is a new practice, and I'd rather you hear that from me than work it out later. I'm early in my hands-on bookkeeping career and completing Intuit's certification now. What I bring is a finance education, real estate experience, two languages, and an unusual amount of care about the details.
In practice: I take few clients so each gets real attention, I check my work rather than assume it, and when something is outside what I can competently do, I say so and point you to someone who can. A bookkeeper who guesses is worse than none — the errors are just harder to find.

What guides the work
- Accuracy over speed. Every number is checked before it reaches you. Reconciled means reconciled to the penny, not close enough.
- Plain language. You should understand your own financials. Explaining them is part of the service.
- Clear limits. I'll tell you when something needs a CPA, an Enrolled Agent, or an attorney — before you hire me, not after.
- Confidentiality by default. Your financial data is handled with the care I'd want for my own.
- Responsiveness. One business day on any message, and a real person every time.
Finance training, real estate experience, two languages
Finance education
A Purdue finance degree with a wealth-management focus, plus ongoing coursework. Currently completing the Intuit bookkeeping certification and working toward QuickBooks Online certification.
Real estate background
Experience in Massachusetts real estate, which brings a working understanding of closings, settlement statements, and how a property purchase should actually land in the books.
Latino-owned, and built that way on purpose
Fluent in English and Spanish, with Dominican roots. You work directly with me in whichever language you'd rather discuss your money in — no interpreter, no hand-off. Faro is a Latino-owned practice, and the businesses I understand best are the ones run the way mine is.
The plan, stated openly
Faro starts as a bookkeeping practice, deliberately. Bookkeeping done well is a real service on its own, and I'd rather be excellent at one thing than mediocre at four.
I'm working toward the Enrolled Agent credential — the IRS designation that allows preparing returns and representing clients before the IRS. When it's earned, tax preparation opens to existing clients first. Until then, I won't advertise it and I won't do it.
